RED COMET PRESS is an independent children’s book publisher, based in Brooklyn, with a focus on illustrated storytelling. We publish a wide range of international voices including books in translation from countries such as France, Italy, Germany, Czechia, Japan, and Ukraine. Red Comet also originates books in English with new and established authors from the UK, Ireland, Australia, and the United States. We are passionate about bringing literature for children from a broad spectrum of voices to a wide audience of readers.

    Angus has served on the boards of the Children’s Book Council and the Assembly on Literature for Adolescents of NCTE, a judge for the Reading Rainbow competition, and taught at the Columbia Publishing Course. He is currently serving on the board of the US Board of Books for Young People and is a trustee on the board of his son’s school which serves students with learning disabilities.

    Beginning in book distribution Anna’s is a long and joyful publishing career, always with a focus on children’s books.  From Candlewick and Random House to Scholastic, launching Bloomsbury USA’s books for children as well as a book-and-toy company for Chronicle, Anna’s outlook is toward growth and creative endeavors.  She lives in the Seattle area with her husband and dog, Maisy (if you can find them but for all the plants).  Her two children will finish college soon, which means more time in Italy!
